Church Planting
We are currently planting a church in the city of Rașnov, Romania. We believe that Jesus builds His church, and we are just here to faithfully win people to Christ and make them His disciples. Through personal evangelism, one-on-one discipleship, expository preaching, and the leading of God, He has allowed us to nurture our church plant. Our church is called “Izvorul Vieții” (Spring of LIfe) and we meet weekly in our home. We have more than a dozen families, a whole bunch of children, and we have a very full house! For this reason, and the fact that culturally, we’ve found more success in drawing non-christians to “church” when we rented a building, we are currently raising funds to build or buy a permanent meeting place for our church.
Evangelistic Outreaches
We do street evangelism, puppet shows, and an occasional concert, but our biggest outreach event is our annual Easter Egg Hunt that we do in our town of Râșnov. We use this event as an opportunity to love on our city and to share the gospel multiple times during the event through stories, preaching, puppets, and one-on-one conversations.
Humanitarian / Refugee Ministry
We share the love of Jesus while ministering to the practical needs of people in difficult circumstances. We have helped people in need as the Holy Spirit leads us both within our community and internationally. We seek God’s wisdom in how to use the resources God has allocated to us to effectively minister to people and share the Gospel while meeting their needs. In 2015 we ministered to Syrian Refugees and in 2022 we’ve been ministering to Ukrainian Refugees.
Children’s Ministry
Camelia is ministering full-time as the Children’s Director at Hope Baptist Church of Brașov. She recruits and leads the teachers; creates, and translates curriculum for the Sunday School classes, and she actively participates in teaching the children.
Discipleship
We believe that the best way for a Christian to grow is to be discipled, (established in the Word of God, the Worship of God, the Local Church, and Ministry) one-on-one, by a more mature Christian. (2 Timothy 2.2) The guide that we use to teach our disciples is Biblical Discipleship: A Guide for Establishing Christ in Others published by Living Faith Books. We have translated this book into Romanian and adapted it to the Romanian culture.
Doug is also a teacher at an online Bible Institute through Hope Baptist Church of Brașov which is reaching students in places that have limited access to the Gospel.
